4 days in Scotland.Golden Eagle, Goshawk. Plus Robert the Bruce.

The flight to Glasgow takes about an hour, on landing Brian is off to book out the hire car while Jimmy & I pick up the cases.
We are about 100 miles away from our lodgings, so to break the journey we head to Oban, I really like our visits here. so day 1 of the trip.
Our first bird tick of the trip is Hooded Crow, we see plenty of them while around the. Oban area.
Also out on the water we pick out 3 male & 1 female Eider Duck  then the real target bird is spotted Black Guillemot to give us year tick 2.
After our fill of Oban we head up to pick up the Corran ferry, it's £7.60 for the 5 minute trip over.
Not to far to try our luck at Stontian to look for the Black Duck, we give it a good go when we arrive we look all round the river & local roads looking for the pond it had been seen on, we never find any sort of pond & the duck is not found on  this visit or on the next two trips to locate it, so this one is a dip for us.
Off now for the drive up to Fort William where we will be staying for the next 3 nights, it's a nice drive up the side of Loch Lomand for a good part of the journey, when we arrive we find that Brian has picked another nice place for us stay at.

Hooded Crow
If only they all came this close I might get some good photos.
Not a bad first day, we will be up really early tomorrow to head up into the highlands.
Oban

Long way off but the Eiders
